Overview

Managed farmland in Kanakapura — Madilu, Chikkamudude.

Madilu by Delight Eco Farms is eleven acres of established mango grove at Chikkamudude Village, Uyyamballi Hobli, in Kanakapura taluk — a quiet rural setting off the Malavalli–Kanakapura Road, framed by the Cheelandavadi Forest.

It is the smallest and most intimate estate Delight has built: 38 boutique plots, eight signature amenities, and buildings raised from the ground they stand on — rammed earth, laterite stone, bamboo and natural wood. A courtyard guesthouse, a pool that hides in the greenery, a pickleball court, a vegetable garden with beekeeping units, and a stargazing deck set away from any artificial light.

Surveyed, water-ready plots at ₹700 per sq.ft. Madilu takes its name from the Kannada word for a mother's lap — shade, nourishment and continuity, held across generations.

The land

A life shaped by earth & community.

Five notes from the grove — what grows, what the nights are for, where the fire is lit, where you swim, and where you play.

03 / BUILT OF THE EARTH
Materials

Where nature shapes every scenery.

Design here is rooted in the ground itself. Rammed-earth walls, laterite stone, bamboo and natural wood make structures that breathe, age gracefully and stay naturally cool — using far less energy than the alternative.

08 / THE IDEA
Madilu

Shade. Nourishment. Continuity.

In older cultures the mango grove stood for abundance, protection and longevity. Madilu — the Kannada word for a mother's lap — takes its name and its plan from that idea.

01 / Shade

Life under the canopy

An established grove, not a sapling scheme. The canopy is already here, and the layout was drawn around it rather than through it.

02 / Nourishment

Land that feeds

Mangoes overhead, a vegetable garden underfoot, beekeeping units and insect hotels — land that feeds body and spirit alike.

03 / Continuity

Held across generations

Buildings raised from the earth they stand on, designed to age gracefully. Abundance and protection, meant to be handed on.

10 / QUESTIONS
FAQ

Madilu & farmland at Kanakapura, answered.

01 Where exactly is Madilu?

Chikkamudude Village, Uyyamballi Hobli, Kanakapura Taluk, Bangalore South - 562117. A quiet rural setting off the Malavalli-Kanakapura Road, framed by the Cheelandavadi Forest.

02 How big is the estate and how many plots are there?

Eleven acres, and just 38 boutique plots - the smallest and most intimate estate Delight has built. Phase II covers plot numbers 301 to 324, laid out along eighteen-foot roads.

03 What is the price?

Guide pricing is Rs 700 per sq.ft. Plot sizes vary across the Phase II schedule, so speak with the sales desk for the current list. The guide price is indicative and subject to availability at the time of booking.

04 What is already planted?

An established mango grove, not a sapling scheme. The canopy is already here, and the layout was drawn around the existing trees rather than through them.

05 What does the name mean?

Madilu is the Kannada word for a mother's lap. In older cultures the mango grove stood for abundance, protection and longevity - shade, nourishment and continuity, held across generations.

06 What amenities are on the estate?

Eight: an earthen courtyard guesthouse with dorm rooms and a shared community kitchen, a nature campsite with a mud oven and bonfire pit, a swimming pool, a professional-grade pickleball court, a vegetable garden with beekeeping units, a stargazing deck, a yoga pavilion and a children's play area.

07 What are the buildings made of?

Rammed earth, laterite stone, bamboo and natural wood - breathable, durable and low-impact. They use less energy, stay naturally cool, and age gracefully rather than needing constant upkeep.

08 Why the stargazing deck?

It sits well away from artificial light. Kanakapura's rural belt still has genuinely dark skies, which is increasingly rare within reach of Bengaluru.

09 Do I have to farm the land myself?

No. Madilu runs on Delight's managed farmland model - the grove, the grounds and the amenities are maintained for you year-round.

10 How does it compare with the Sakleshpur estates?

It is far closer to the city and much smaller. Sakleshpur means a four-and-a-half-hour drive to a working coffee plantation; Madilu is an eleven-acre mango grove in the Kanakapura belt south of Bengaluru, built for a day trip rather than a long weekend.
